I think she's become a liability to the Republicans. Yes, she's principled and a true conservative, but the there's no way she could sustain a campaign on her"folksy platitudes," to paraphrase Charles Krauthammer. IMHO, she does not qualify for the job in many of the same ways that The Chosen One or HRC did not qualify: a lack of significant experience in foreign or domestic affairs; in her case especially - none. I like her as a person and I appreciate her values, but she is not Presidential timber. The perfect job for her seems to be governor of Alaska. But bizarrely, she just gave that up.
I don't know that she's a liability. I do agree she is not yet qualified to be President. She may not have those aspirations. She may be headed in an entirely different direction. The Left had to destroy her because she showed a glimmer of leadership - something missing in politics today. Thier willingness to say and do anything to discredit her speaks to their fear.
