The Power of God

H/T Dad29 and The Agitator.

This was awfully cool.

And after looking at it and similar videos, I was reminded of God's awesome power and how small and insignificant we are by comparison. I am also reminded of the arrogance of those who believe we are more powerful than the God's natural forces.

"Entitlement"

I do not recognize your claim to the fruits of my labor; your claim to my property. Go out and get your own. If I choose to help you, that is my choice. You have no "right" to it. I traded my labor for something of value; something others will take in trade. It is mine, not yours.

Racist Ideology?

H/T: Gateway Pundit.

So now the term "States Rights" is racist? Then he has the unmitigated gall to say we are all "brothers and sisters"? If that were true, Warren Ballentine would have no problem understanding what the term "States Rights" really means.

There are certain things the Federal Government is allowed to and prohibited from doing. They are specifically detailed in the Constitution of the United States. All other Rights are to the states or the the people.

Glad to see Juan Williams stand up on this. I disagree with him regularly, but for the most part, he is intellectually honest.

Come over to the Dark Side, Juan. We have cookies.

Francisco D'Anconia

I'm reading Atlas Shrugged. Ayn Rand was frighteningly prescient. I'm heading into the 1/2 way mark and off all that I've read, this is the most important.

I shall forevermore refer to the "Moochers" and the "Looters".

Mandatory Obesity Rating?

More Leftist Lies

H/T Gateway Pundit.

It is becoming increasingly clear that the Left is orchestrating the lies about the TEA Party. It's the same lines over and over and over.

But what bothers me more is that people like Ben Stein are saying, "Yes, there are some fringe elements.....". No, there aren't. I've been to multiple rallies and the only "fringe element" consists of those sent to infiltrate from the Left and those who are overtly counter-protesting.

Bring the fight to them. Kenneth Gladney/SEIU, New Black Panthers, Rev. Wright. Keep hitting back with those. Force them to condemn that type of activity. When the Left lies, call them on it. Dana Loesch has the right idea. Andrew Breitbart has the right idea. Do not allow them to fight on their terms.

Female Genital Mutilation and the Feminists

Ya, know...I Googled the term. The usual suspects are out there claiming to speak "truth to power". But the fact is, they are cowards. They want to talk about it, but they don't want to do anything about it. And that's what Liberalism is. It's institutional cowardice. "Save Darfur", but we can't have any American troops die over it...I mean...they are just Black Africans. Let's just feel good about marching in favor of saving Darfur.

Kiss my ass, you cowardly POS.

This is a Test

For all my PROGRESSIVE friends out there:

One PROGRESSIVE social program that works. Just one. By "works" I mean, as in business, it is on-time, under-budget and does what it was designed to do.

Yeah, I didn't think so.

Bad, Bad Republicans

The Beer: An amber ale called "Leftoverture" is in the fermenter. Punk IPA Clone is to be brewed tomorrow by request.

The Bicycle: It was a beautiful 20 miler with my neighbor this morning. Tomorrow, a short ride with my lovely bride and Sunday should be a 50-miler with the boyz in the neighborhood.

The VRWC: For about 18 months here, the Democrats have been in the majority...the Super Majority, actually (I suppose not unlike Wile-E-Coyote, Super-Genius). Insurmountable until the death of Ted Kennedy and now, with the passing of Robert Byrd and until his replacement, a near Super Majority. Apparently, Bob Schrum has forgotten that little fact.

Democrats in the House will respond that they've done their job; the Senate is the roadblock. Democrats in the Senate will plead that they're not the problem; a willful GOP minority is blocking progress not just out of spite, but calculation. Republicans figure that a slow recovery and the lingering oil slick will drive a protest vote for them in November.

The Democratic arguments are right, but largely irrelevant and generally ignored by a fearful and frustrated electorate.

Really? In what way are Republicans "blocking progress"? Filibuster? That's really the only avenue open to them. I don't see any. Hmmm. Fearful elecctorate? Yeah, I suppose so. Fearful that the Constitution is being ignored and our individual liberties are going the way of the Edsel. We are frustrated and angry at the ineptitude and arrogance of an administration (and overall government) that claims to be full of the "Smart People".

Baghdad Bob Gibbs says the same thing. Republicans are blocking "Comprehensive Immigration Reform". Read that, "Amnesty for Illegal Aliens".

Republicans are in no position to block anything. Now, Republicans ARE in a position to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. This is their election to lose, but they have yet to put forth a combined, coherent message. Yes, individual candidates are stressing fiscal responsibility, lower taxes and greater Liberty, but the party itself is rudderless. Unless the GOP gets their message straight (and disavows guys like Lindsey Graham and Michael Steele), stuff from Schrum and Baghdad Bob Gibbs will start to stick.
