President Barack Obama's proposed tax increases are being met with misgivings by both Republicans and Democrats in Congress as he sends his Treasury secretary to Capitol Hill to defend them.
Some things apparently never change...like Democrats and taxes. We told you the Obama (heretofore referred to as "The Chosen One" or TCO) administration would bring about more taxes and draconian AGW regulation. You didn't believe us. Do you think your energy bills are high? You ain't seen nothin' yet. The claim that tax breaks will offset the increase in energy costs rings hollow. Not only does the "carbon tax" raise your energy bill, but as we saw last summer, it raises the cost of everything. It will also increase your employers' cost of doing buisiness. Add in the "tax on the rich" and you can say good-bye to a raise again next year. Unless you work for the government.
We'll see if the Democrats in Congress are really serious about "misgivings" or if they are a rubber stamp for this administration.
