My biggest complaint about the Bush administration was always that he allowed Democrats and the media to beat him like a rented mule and never pushed back.
How much different might Bush’s final years in office have been if he had pushed back against the press’s practically immoral “there’s no problem with Social Security” campaign, and if he had aggressively challenged the disingenuous attacks concerning the White House’s “poor response” to Hurricane Katrina?
Arguably, the most important tool available to the President is the "bully pulpit". No Republican has used it effectively since Reagan.
NewsFlash to Republican Conservatives: The Left and the media don't like you. They never will, no matter how much you do, no matter how often you make that deal-with-the-devil. If you don't get in the game and get your message out, you will be in the minority forever.
